Lost Cousins is completely FREE until 2007!

The Lost Cousins family history site matches you with others who are researching the same ancestors from England, Wales, Scotland, and Canada. Lost Cousins is offering completely free access until New Year’s Day! You can sign up for a free basic membership that allows you to take advantage of the features normally only accessible by subscribers. This not only means that you’ll be able to contact other members who share your ancestors; you’ll also be able to search for members who are related to you by marriage (referred to as ‘extended matches’ on the site).

After you complete the free registration on the site, go to the ‘My Ancestors’ page. Then, enter as many of your relatives as possible, from the 1881 British Census and the 1881 Canadian Census, and click the Search button. This will give you a list of anyone researching these same ancestors. Then, you can contact these new cousins and share information. You might even find a new branch for your tree!

If you have not located your ancestors in the 1881 census yet, you can search for them for free at the LDS Church’s wonderful Family Search website.

I wish you a Happy New Year with lots of success growing your family tree!
